The WIA has for many years acknowl­edged the con­tri­bu­tion of Michael Owen, VK3KI (SK), has made through his many years of ser­vice to the IARU glob­al­ly.

The WIA does this with the award­ing of a tro­phy each year to the high­est indi­vid­ual scor­er in the IARU HF Con­test.

-The win­ner of the WIA 2024 Michael J Owen award is KATSUHIRO KONDOU, JE6RPM. Op JH5GHM.

-The win­ner of the WIA 2025 Michael J Owen award is VLADIMIR HUZEVKA, VL2A. Op VK2IM.

Kat­suhi­ro Kon­dou JH5GHM will be pre­sent­ed with his award in Tokyo this com­ing August dur­ing the Tokyo Ham­fair week­end and the JARL 100 year Cen­te­nary celebrations.
