The EC members reported on various activities, including ongoing communication with amateur radio clubs in Hong Kong, updates on IARU restructuring consultations, and regional activities such as the re-election of KARL’s president and the conclusion of the HL100IARU operation. The Vice President discussed upcoming meetings and the status of IARU position papers for WRC-27. The Secretary provided updates on correspondence related to events like QRP Day and the IARU HF Championship, as well as participation in the IARU 100th anniversary celebrations. President Wisnu shared his experience at the anniversary event in Paris, and Oscar highlighted active media contributions and attendance at the WIA annual meeting.
Regarding the IARU restructuring consultation, feedback from Member Societies was limited, with concerns expressed about the lack of detailed proposals, especially regarding finances. It was agreed that silence would be considered agreement, and members were encouraged to submit their feedback.
Preparations for the upcoming APG-27–2 meeting in Bangkok were discussed, focusing on WRC-27 agenda items that could impact amateur radio, particularly those related to lunar communication and space weather sensors. Representatives Aris and Jack volunteered to attend.
The next EC meeting was scheduled for August 25–26, 2025, in Tokyo, with members asked to confirm travel plans. The upcoming IARU Region 2 General Conference and AC meeting will be held in Salvador, Brazil, in October, with President Wisnu and Secretary Ken representing Region 3.
Additional topics included the review of the previous minutes, financial handover issues, inactive officers, the R3 Net operation modes, the possibility of hosting the R3 YOTA Camp, and updates on the Region 3 website and mail server. Discussions also covered the proposal for an annual QRP Day around June 17, with flexibility on the exact date.
